We are looking for a Tolerance Management Expert to join our Engineering Division, based in Tranås, Sweden, where we have our cross-functional teams located close to our testing, prototyping and production facility. The teams consist of skilled, motivated members with diverse expertise.
In this role, you will ensure the dimensional accuracy and functionality of components, systems, and assemblies throughout the design and manufacturing processes. Your expertise will drive the optimization of tolerances to reduce manufacturing costs while maintaining product quality and performance.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Perform tolerance stack-up analyses for complex assemblies to ensure components meet functional requirements. Utilize tolerance analysis in CETOL and CAD, SolidWorks, to simulate and validate dimensional accuracy.
Develop optimization strategies to enable tradeoffs between product quality, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability through effective tolerance management.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards, drawings, and reports.
Work closely with engineering- and manufacturing teams to communicate tolerance requirements and resolve dimensional issues.
Investigate and troubleshoot tolerance-related issues during prototyping, testing, and production phases.
Develop and implement inspection methodologies and ensure tolerance compliance in production.
Provide guidance and training on GD&T principles and tolerance best practices to team members.
Your profile
Extensive knowledge of GD&T principles, standards and tolerance analysis methodologies.
Strong communication skills for effectively conveying complex tolerance-related concepts to diverse audiences.
Certification in GD&T or equivalent training is preferred.
It’s a clear advantage if you have experience and understanding of manufacturing processes, lathes and CNC machines along with materials, and metrology techniques.

Job Description
Your contribution to something big
You will be supporting local TEF (technical functions) department with daily project tasks
You will be both preparing and participating in workshops.
Routine administrative tasks will also be part of your duties, helping keep projects on track and organized
Using analytical tools, you will assist with data mining and analysis
You will have the opportunity to plan and execute production related improvement projects
By utilizing 2D and 3D software tools you will visualize the production layout and heat pump components
You will be actively participating and using Industrial Engineering tools (ergonomics, standardized work, MTM etc.)

Duration of the internship: 6 months, preferably starting in March 2025
Location: on-site in our plant in Tranås, Sweden


Qualifications
What distinguishes you
Currently studying Engineering or similar (Bachelor or Master of Science)
Ability to work independently and approach people easily
A goal-oriented attitude
Knowledge in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Good analytical skills and problem-solving mindset
Hands on technical skills and CAD skills are desirable
Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English

Functional Area: Technical Functions
This job role is expected to apply basic industrial engineering concepts throughout production processes to meet customer requirements. Coordination and regular use of MTM and Ergonomics tools will be necessary to give inputs to design and process development while making sure the data in the system is correct. While applying lean concepts to enhance performance, and lower cost, use of research, design, and planning skills will be the key.
Part of this job will be supporting serial production on day to day issues and process changes which may include, preparing and maintaining standardized process documentation (eg.,Work Instructions, test instructions, line balancing etc.), training users and handing over new standards to customers. Also expected to support new product introduction projects to complete industrial engineering tasks timely with quality sample builds and train operators of the new product and processes. Being part of Health and Safety Risk Assessments will be part of regular routine.
Qualifications
What distinguishes you
Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, or another relevant field
Experience as a user on MTM and Ergonomics as well as relevant SAP modules.
Knowledge of lean and quality tools such as Process Mapping, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action, and various problem-solving approaches.
Analytical thinking: Data mining, data collection, organization, statistical design.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, as well as, facilitate cross-functional teams
Good communication skills and interact with employees to gather inputs for process improvements and analysis in different levels of production process.
Willing to travel occasionally national or internationally
Strong verbal and written communication skills both in Swedish and English
